Cor Meibion Y Fflint

With over a year under my belt, I have to say that I wish that I’d joined the Choir when my father first started pushing me many years ago.

Dad sang for many, many years with Chipping Norton, Churchdown and Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choirs over the years as a Top Tenor. On the odd occasion that we sang together at family get togethers, he would comment that I should join ‘…that marvellous Choir…’ in Flint where I had settled after leaving the RAF.

He’d sung alongside Flint MVC at the Albert Hall in 2009 and was very impressed with what he heard. With 500 voices in the Hall it’s a small world when you can see him just two rows behind the Flint lads in Blue!

Sadly, he’d passed away before I joined Flint MVC in November 2018. I was very nervous on my first night at rehearsal, but I have to say that I formed some close friendships on that night. There are some wonderful voices in the Choir and it’s a privilege to perform with them. Here’s to many years of future fun with this wonderful Choir.
